Finished Projects

Well, I finally got around to taking some pictures of what I have been working on. Better late than never, I guess. I have finished three receiving blankets and too many burp rags to count. Some have already made their way to new homes, and some even before I could take pictures. Oh, well. These two blankets I think I might end up saving for me (no mom, no grandkids yet) just because I think they are super cute and it will be hard to part with them. On the edgings I did a crab stitch (reverse SC) on the monkey one and a cluster stitch over a HDC on the pink one. Fun and easy. The burp rags were given to me by my aunt and I am just now getting around to them.
I love making these blankets so much, that I even got some more flannel to make another one. Love this funky flannel.

In other fun news, why didn't I think of this .... just pick up my whole apartment and move it to another location instead of packing up all my stuff in boxes? I guess it isn't such a crazy idea because I just spent 30 minutes in traffic waiting for a diesel to move a whole house! I even took a picture to prove that I am not making this up. There were cops blocking traffic through the canyon with cars piling up on both sides while this "over -oversize load" made it's way through the canyon. The sucker took up almost both lanes! Silly me, I spent a week packing and unpacking when I could have just moved my whole apartment to a new location. Oh well, at least it kept me out of the office a little longer and I got to see this adorable red roof bridge.

The red roof bridge is great! I've never seen one like that. I can't believe they moved a whole house! I've never seen that done either.

The receiving blankets look great! I've done a fair share of flannel blankets but never thought to use different flannel on both sides for a double sided blanket. That's an awesome idea and if you don't mind me borrowing it, I may have to try it with some spare flannel I have lying around.

I've never tried that edgerydoo - type crochet before. Spacing the holes scares me. I love the borders! They're really pretty, but not distracting from the cute fabrics. I'm a fan of ladybugs. That flannel is really cute!

I've seen half-houses tranported, but not a whole house. Those are some big hills right by the road!

I love the blankets. Oh that makes me want to try edgings! I love the monkey one and the newest flannel you got. Good luck in your new ward this weekend!

those blankets are so darling. I would love to try crocheting an edging like that someday. And that bridge is just darling!

I have no idea how I landed here (I probably followed your comment from somewhere -- you know how it goes) but I LOVE your little crocheted edgings. I love doing little blankets like that but haven't done them in years. I'm thinking I need to start again LOL. I've never heard of a reverse sc though -- I need to look that one up!

I just found your blog and LOVE the crochet edgings on the blankets! I'm new to crochet...what kind of thread and hook do you use to do that? They are really beautiful! Very inspiring!
