A Small Setback

Lesson learned .... A dull blade is more dangerous than a sharp blade.

Yes, it is true, I am finally a real quilter. Last Sunday as I was quilting, my rotary cutter jumped the ruler and cut my finger instead. It sliced off the tip of my left index finger and nail clean off. It is disgusting so I didn't take a picture. Hopefully it will heal nicely on its own, or I'll most likely have to get skin grafts. Please pray that I don't have to get that done. I'll find out on Monday.

After a trip to the emergency room, several painful shots, medicine that makes me loopy, and lots of rest, I'm beginning to feel a little better.

Needless to say, I can't type so well which means I can't sew, crochet, scrapbook, or embroider either. Snif, Snif. I'll be missing for a while but hopefully I'll be back soon.

Oh no! That's such a downer! I hope you heal very quickly. Since you can't do much with your hands, you can use the time to read and plan your future projects. Whenever I'm hurt (chronically bad ankles) or sick, I get loads of reading done. Hope you feel better soon!

Dang! Now I'm a little freaked out that's going to happen to me - I'm pretty accident prone. Hopefully you heal really fast.

Regarding a post you made on Quilt Dad's blog about the "Prince Charming" Fabric... If you're still looking for this, I just got an email from a clearance house and they have a few bolts of this... for LESS THAN $2/yard (you do have to order the whole BOLT, but it makes for great cheap backings!)

Anyway, contact Sharon Thomas at Marshall Dry Goods Co., Inc. 888-744-8277.

Even if she's sold out already (which happens) you can ask to be added to her email list and you'll get regular (about once/week) emails with INCREDIBLE deals on "last season's" fabrics. :D

PS: I hope you're finger's feeling better!!!

Your poor finger. I hate hospitals so I feel for you and the emergency room. As for your cat, my dog is my first daughter, and she is very important for us...me...people will think I'm crazy but if she is sick, is like having Dallin sick. I love my Bella, and I love you understand what that kind of love for a pet is.
Hang in there, and take care of that finger, you'll need it to make more beautiful things SOON!
