Phew, I made a quilt and a cat! That was hard work! :-) Well, okay, maybe not the cat, but I did make the quilt. Dimitri sure does love it already and has left cat hair all over it. I think he would like me to give it to him.
This is my second finished quilt for the year. So far, I’m feeling pretty good about my projects for 2009. I got this quilt pattern for Christmas and immediately put it together. And by immediately I mean… 2 hours later I had the top finished. I think I was a little excited to get it.
The patten is called Double Take and it is designed by Pieces From My Heart. All of the fabric is Moda. It is brown and orange, although these pictures make it seem more black and orange. The finished size is 50 X 50.
For the backing, I used the remaining scraps I had from the top and then I purchased some Kona Cotton in Brown for the rest. I also used the brown for the binding.
Here it is, all folded up and ready to be used. I just washed it and I love how it crinkled so well. I just did an all over stippling for the quilting (I’m finally getting better at it). Overall, I love it. Now I just need to decided what to do with it.

Wow! That is amazing and gorgeous! I absolutely love the orange and brown together. Its really breathtaking!
Very, very cool. The links don't seem to got to the pattern anymore but that is a very cool idea. Well executed also.
This is beautiful Cami, way to go! You are doing so wonderful, I love ALL your quilts. Don't know how you're going to keep it from Dimitri though . . .
ha!
I really did a double take! I love it.
this is such a cute quilt! I thought you did a lace overlay on the top in the middle, but now I see that it's a patterned fabric...what an interesting design :)
I know what you can do with it - give it to me! :-) It turned out perfect. So gorgeous!
Don't give it to Maw Maw... give it to me instead...
Great work love the pattern.. Keep up the good work.

Very cool! I like the simplicity and it does cause a "double take". Great job.
WOW you did a great job Cami, omg so amazing at how you be doing that quilting so stylish. Cool. :)
I LOVE that. It looks like the fabric in the middle is almost transparent when you look at it from afar. Very good job!
If you don't mind me asking, which fabric line from Moda is that?
This is one of the best quilts I've seen lately. I love the illusion of an overlaying pattern. It took me a minute to figure out what was goig on. Great job Cami!
Beautiful quilt. I never really tried quilts, but LOVE them.
Cami: I seriously think you have great talent and you SHOULD start making money out of this...I want to be there and buy whatever you do.
So...I'll be your favorite customer!
Hummmm....you made a good point, is a lot of work and time and supplies, BUT..., Have you been in the Holy Cow boutique? When I was pregnant with Dallin I saw a quilt in one of their stands...it was cute, crib size and she was charging something like 130 dollars, a lot, but we didn't have the money at the time...we went the next day and it was gone! It was cute and I was so bummed.
My point is: there is people out there like me who will pay whatever because things are cute and you like the colors maybe? Or just because you like to shop.
Yours are way to cute, and you know it! I'll advertise yours for free...once I'm in Utah.
I have so many of yours that are my favorite, I could never choose one.

That is such a fun quilt. Makes you look at fabric in a whole new way.
I love the way this quilt looks like it has a layer of transparent lace on the top of it.
