Irish Hiking Scarf - Finished!

I hate to even admit this, but this scarf has been on the needles for 10 months. Yikes! That is way too long. I'm glad to have this finished, and just in time for the weather to start warming up (it is 76 today in case you were wondering). In my defense, the reason this took me so long is that this scarf is a monster. Finished length is 6" wide by 98" long. Yes - 98 inches long! I just kept knitting and knitting until I ran out of yarn, then after blocking, it grew significantly. I love it though!
The pattern is called "Irish Hiking Scarf" and is a perfect project for learning cables. By the time this scarf was finished... I was able to make a cable without a cable needle! If you are wanting to try cables, this is definitely the perfect beginner pattern. You can find it for free here.
I'm not sure how much I like this yarn yet. It was okay to work with (it didn't split at all), but the end result is a little scratchy.  Not ideal for something wrapped around your skin.  But I think it will get softer with use.  I do love the color though.  Beautiful color changes throughout but no pooling.
